ONE to charter six 24,000TEU ships from Imabari

Japan’s Ocean Network Express (ONE) has awarded a letter of intent (LOI) to Imabari Shipbuilding’s Shoei Kisen Kaisha shipping business for the long-term charters of six 24,000TEU container vessels.

The vessels will be built by the Nihon Shipyard joint venture between Imabari and Japan Marine United (JMU).

Delivery of all six vessels is scheduled for the 2023-2024 timeframe.
