Den Bosch Max, a joint venture company formed by Dutch enterprises Nedcargo International and BCTN, have formally named two of the newest additions to its fleet of inland container vessels.

Built by Concordia Damen, Den Bosch Max Blauw and Den Bosch Max Groen each have a length of 90 metres, a beam of 11.5 metres, and capacity for 132 TEUs.

The vessels’ dimensions will allow them to pass through the locks on the Dieze Canal at Engelen, a requirement for accessing the container terminal at Den Bosch.

The newbuilds are also to be equipped to utilise interchangeable, container-sized battery packs supplied by Zero Emission Services. Charged using renewable power, a depleted container can be quickly exchanged for a full one at exchange and loading stations.
