Navios Maritime Partners to acquire 11 vessels

Navios Maritime Partners is set to acquire five containerships from Navios Europe, which has been slated for liquidation.

The acquisition covers the Panamax containerships Castor N and Solar N and the Sub-Panamax vessels Esperanza N, Protostar N, and Harmony N.

The company will also acquire four bulk carriers from an unnamed entity affiliated with chairman and CEO Angeliki Frangou. Delivery of all four bulk carriers is expected to be completed before the end of December 2019.

Lastly, Navios Maritime Partners has agreed to bareboat charter-in two newbuilding 81,000DWT Kamsarmax vessels, one of which is subject to completion of documentation.

Each vessel is being bareboat chartered-in for 10 years, and the company has the option to acquire the Kamsarmax vessels after the end of the fourth year for the remaining period of the bareboat charter.

Delivery of the vessels is scheduled for the second and third quarters of 2021.
