UK-based Quadrise Fuels International has entered into a joint development agreement (JDA) with MSC Shipmanagement of Cyprus (MSC), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), to carry out operational trials of a new type of low-emission biofuel on commercial container vessels in the MSC global fleet.

The trials are expected to commence in the second half of 2021.

Upon completion and success of the trials, and subject to further agreement between the parties, the JDA envisages subsequent commercial roll-out of the biofuel across MSC’s global fleet.
