MPC Capital orders four methanol-ready boxships
Hamburg-based asset and investment manager MPC Capital, together with its partners, has ordered four container vessel newbuildings at South Korean shipyard Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC).
The vessels will each have a capacity of 5,500 TEUs and propulsion systems that can be converted in future to enable operation on green methanol.
Delivery of the first vessel is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.
