ICTSI Rio Brasil 1, a Brazil business unit of International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI), and French shipping company CMA CGM have launched a new cargo service that covers ports in Brazil and the Caribbean.

Operated by a fleet of five ships, the Brazil Express Loop 2 (BRAZEX 2) service rotates through Jamaica’s capital port Kingston, the Port of Spain in Trinidad, the Brazilian ports of Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Navegantes and Vila de Conde and lastly Caucedo in the Dominican Republic, before heading back to Kingston.

The service will make weekly calls to Rio de Janeiro. ICTSI said it will offer optimised cargo routes to and from the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean, and the US using the Port of Kingston as a transhipment hub.
