Greece’s Danaos taps Chinese yard for 7,100TEU newbuildings

Greek containership owner Danaos Corporation has placed orders for two 7,100TEU vessels to be built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC) in China.

The vessels will be methanol fuel ready and will be built in accordance with the latest requirements of the IMO in relation to Tier III emission standards and Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase III.

Deliveries will take place in the second and third quarters of 2024.
