CMA CGM targeted by cyber-attack

France’s CMA CGM Group has reported that a “limited leak of contact information” related to some of its customers has been detected on one of the group’s mobile apps during regular surveillance operations, the company said on Tuesday, September 21.

CMA CGM said the leak concerns limited personal data of customers’ representatives including details such as first and last names, employer, position, business email address and phone number.

Confidential information related to commercial contracts, bank details and other information with the company has remained completely secured.

CMA CGM added that there has been no operational impact on the group’s activities and all operating systems are working normally. All data exchanges with our customers and suppliers have remained fully secured.

The company’s IT teams have immediately developed and installed security patches on mobile apps. The company has also informed all relevant authorities about this incident and is working closely with them.
