CMA CGM orders 22 ships from Chinese builder

CMA CGM Group and China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) have entered into agreements for the construction of 22 new container vessels.

Under the agreements, CSSC will build six 13,000TEU vessels, six 15,000TEU vessels, and ten 5,500TEU vessels. The 5,500TEU vessels will be powered by very low-sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) while the 12 other ships will be powered by LNG.

The vessels will be delivered to CMA CGM between 2023 and 2024.
