Huangpu Wenchong delivers newbuild containership to US operator

Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has delivered a new 1,100TEU containership to US-based Tropical Shipping.

The vessel, which has been named Tropic Island, meets Tier III emissions and BV ice zone enhanced classification requirements, allowing it to sail in low-temperature environments of up to -25 degrees Celsius for brief periods.

Tropic Island also meets the navigation requirements of the US West Coast and other Emission Control Areas (ECAs) and has energy-saving and environmental protection features.
