US Navy releases details of US$179.1 billion capital spending budget

USA: The Department of the Navy has submitted its spending plan to Congress in which it proposed the purchase of nine ships and 206 aircraft, as well as the postponement of the Marine Corps' Expeditionery Fighting Vehicle and the cancellation of the advanced cruiser, the CG(X).

The Navy Department's top budget official, Rear Admiral Joseph Mulloy, held a press conference on February 8 at the Pentagon to speak about the US$179.1 billion spending plan.
