Nigerian security specialist Homeland Integrated Offshore Services (HIOSL) recently took delivery of a new fast patrol vessel for operation in Nigerian territorial waters on behalf of an international energy company.
Guardian 14 belong to the same series as Guardian 9 and Guardian 10, which were handed over to HIOSL in 2019. Like its sisters, the newbuild has an aluminium hull, a length of 34.2 metres, space for 14 personnel, an open deck measuring approximately 75 square metres, and a top speed of 30 knots.
A wave-piercing bow guarantees improved seakeeping performance even at high speeds. The long and slender hull meanwhile offers significantly low resistance, ensuring improved fuel efficiency.
The spacious aft deck can be used for transporting cargo to offshore facilities. The aft deck also accommodate a small daughtercraft, which is launched into the water via a dedicated davit.
Key features of the new boat include ballistic protection for the wheelhouse and mess, an electronic fuel monitoring system, and a night vision camera.
