Cyan Renewables joins electric patrol craft project

Published on:

Singapore-based offshore support specialist Cyan Renewables has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Remota and Norwegian boat designer and builder Moen Marin for the design and development of a new electric-powered patrol craft with autonomous navigation capability.

Cyan Renewables said the project is in line with the Singaporean Government's target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

The vessel will utilise a proven hull form and will feature all-electric propulsion as well as Remota's remote operation technology.

The craft will also be capable of autonomous navigation and will utilise battery management technology with efficient fast-charging infrastructure for safe rapid charging.

Cyan Renewables said the design will feature advanced safety systems based on proven technology with readily available spare parts and expert maintenance. The company explained that this approach will reduce lifecycle costs, enhance operational readiness, and ensure that the craft will consistently meet the rigorous demands of maritime security and patrol duties.
