A newly built patrol vessel was recently handed over to the Netherlands Coastguard.
Enforcer will be operated under charter by the coast guard but will remain under the ownership of Dutch towage and salvage specialist Multraship, which will also be responsible for the navigational crew and maintenance.
The vessel's main area of operations will encompass the North Sea.
The Government Fleet Agency of the Netherlands (Rijksrederij) had earlier issued instructions for the charter of Enforcer in line with the expansion of the Netherlands Coastguard's duties.
Thanks in part to a wave-piercing bow developed in collaboration with the Delft University of Technology, the vessel has a top speed of 27 knots. She also has two high-speed tenders for inspections and enforcement at sea.
The vessel is equipped for the secondary roles of towing and firefighting.
For inspections, personnel from other agencies such as the Dutch Customs Administration can also be embarked.
Enforcer is the fourth Multraship vessel to be supplied to Rijksrederij following three emergency response and towing vessels.
