Technology company Atlas Elektronik UK (AEUK) will provide two unmanned vessels to support the UK Ministry of Defence's (MoD) project that entails mine countermeasures (MCM) operations in UK waters in peacetime.

An 11-metre unmanned surface vessel (USV) (pictured) and a 15-metre workboat capable of both manned and autonomous operations will assist in the deployment and recovery of unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), and towed sonar as part of the MoD's Project Wilton.

The two vessels are expected to achieve initial operational capability by July 2020.
