Sea Machines Robotics announced that it had secured a five-year indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract to supply autonomy kits to US Special Operations Forces.
Under the agreement, the military will use the company's proprietary autonomy technology to provide autonomous command and control on vessels of opportunity operating globally.
The systems are intended to support expeditionary logistics, maritime security and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations. The autonomy packages can be installed within hours on craft of different sizes and configurations.
The company noted that marine autonomy systems and unmanned vessels have become an increasing requirement for defence forces operating in regions including the Arabian Gulf, the Indo-Pacific and the Baltic.
Sea Machines said its systems allow operators to detect and track maritime threats while reducing the need to expose personnel or larger naval assets to potential risks.
“This award reflects a clear shift toward operational, ready-now autonomy that can be deployed wherever and whenever it’s needed,” said Erik Hedval, Director of Federal Business Captures at Sea Machines.
