Ocean Infinity launches new patrol and mapping USV in Kuwait
Technology and marine robotics company Ocean Infinity has launched its newest unmanned surface vehicle (USV) in Kuwait.
Ocean Infinity said the 14-metre, dual-hull USV is a component of a new national integrated maritime surveillance system being developed by SRT Marine Systems.
The craft is custom-equipped with an array of specialist maritime surveillance sensor systems and includes Ocean Infinity's proprietary software, advanced robotics, and marine intelligence technology.
The USV is being developed to provide the Kuwaiti Coast Guard (KCG) with a new class of unmanned patrol, surveillance, mapping and surveying craft.
The USV will be controlled from the KCG’s new purpose-built onshore command centres and will be fully integrated within a new SRT maritime surveillance system.
The platform is tailored for the client’s specific need in the conditions of Kuwait when performing beyond line of sight marine surveillance with live surveillance streaming fully integrated into a new maritime domain awareness system.
Earlier this week, the prototype USV completed live demonstration exercises in open water in Kuwait.
