Exail's Q1 2025 revenue soars with increase in maritime defence contracts

Published on

Exail Technologies has reported a major surge in revenue for the first half of 2025, driven by strong growth in its maritime robotics and navigation systems segments, particularly from defence-related contracts.

The French company’s business update highlighted a significant increase in its order book, though it did not provide figures for profit or a detailed breakdown of outgoings for the period.

This performance was primarily attributed to the, “acceleration of maritime robotics programs and the increase in navigation system deliveries,” Exail said.

Order intake for the first half of the year grew by 279 per cent to €612 million ($708 million), boosting the company’s total order backlog to €1.1 billion, a 75 per cent increase from the end of June 2024.

The company posted consolidated revenues of €220 million for the first six months of the year, a 35 per cent increase compared to the €163 million recorded in the same period in 2024. The growth accelerated in the second quarter, with revenues reaching €126 million, a rise of 52 per cent from the €83 million reported in the second quarter of the previous year.

This performance was primarily attributed to the “acceleration" of maritime robotics programs and the increase in navigation system deliveries.

The company stated that the defence sector made a, “significant contribution to commercial expansion, with the signing of numerous sovereign programs during the quarter, particularly in Europe and Asia.”

Looking ahead, Exail Technologies said the strong performance in the first half of the year, “allows for the anticipation of a very significant increase in current EBITDA in absolute terms.” The company confirmed its full-year targets for 2025, which include, “double-digit revenue growth and current EBITDA growth outpacing that of revenue.”
