Exail to supply unmanned vessels and mine warfare systems to Indonesian Navy
French technology company Exail has been selected to supply multiple Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) and mine identification and disposal systems to the Indonesian Navy.
The contract covers the delivery of four USVs along with remotely operated mine identification and disposal systems.
The new unmanned systems will be deployed from two new mine countermeasure (MCM) motherships, KRI Pulau Fani and KRI Pulau Fanildo. All systems will be remotely operated from the motherships via a unified command and control (C2) centre.
The software suite provides integrated control for both sweeping and hunting operations, including mission planning, real time supervision, and detailed post-mission data analysis and data management.
Jérôme Bendell, Head of Exail's Maritime Systems Business line, said the selection highlights the "strength" of the company's modular MCM system which is designed to be adaptable to the operational needs of different navies. He added, "its flexibility enables the delivery of scalable, high-performance unmanned systems, configurable for a wide range of mine warfare missions."
