Indonesia launches third Nagapasa-class submarine

The future KRI Alugoro, the first submarine to be built locally in Indonesia, was launched into the water for the first time in a ceremony in Semarang, Surabaya, on Thursday, April 11.

The submarine, the third Nagapasa-class diesel-electric ship destined for the Indonesian Navy, is being built by state-owned shipyard PAL with assistance from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME).

Alugoro is scheduled to be commissioned into service within the year.
