The US Navy has awarded Fincantieri Marinette Marine and Lockheed Martin Corporation a contract to build the fifteenth Freedom-class littoral combat ship (LCS), temporarily designated LCS 29.
It will also be the seventh ship the Fincantieri and Lockheed Martin team will deliver to the US Navy.
The future USS Sioux City and the future USS Wichita, two Freedom-class ships built by Fincantieri and Lockheed Martin, were delivered earlier this year.
