Indian naval ship Ganga has been decommissioned after providing more than three decades of service to the nation.

The indigenously built frigate was commissioned on December 30, 1985.

The decommissioning ceremony at Mumbai was attended by officers and men, both serving and retired, who had served onboard the ship.

The naval ensign was hauled down for the last time at sunset by Captain NP Pradeep, the last commanding officer of the ship.

The Godavari-class guided-missile frigate was built in Mumbai by Mazagon Dock.
