The future US Navy destroyer USS Daniel Inouye successfully completed acceptance trials after spending a day underway off the coast of Maine on Thursday, February 4.
The navy's Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) inspected the ship during a series of demonstrations while pierside and underway.
Many of the ship's onboard systems, including navigation, damage control, mechanical and electrical systems, combat systems, communications, and propulsion applications, were tested to validate performance. The navy said that all were found to have met or exceeded navy specifications.
The future Daniel Inouye is the 37th Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer to be built by Bath Iron Works for the US Navy.
