The Iran-Iraq War may have occurred over forty years ago, but much of the hardware used in it was not very different from what is used today. While it was, perhaps, a comparatively minor war, there is much that can be learnt from it. Thus, this detailed and well-illustrated little book should be of considerable benefit to modern warriors both of the air and sea.

Both Iran and Iraq had good access to the best equipment available at the time. They also benefitted from good oil cash flows, and so they could afford the best. The war, therefore, was a good test of aircraft, ships, missiles, mines, and other weaponry.

The latter part of the war was almost contemporaneous with the Falklands War so, it is probably useful to study both events together. Both are very well documented especially with books of the quality of this one. With authors from both sides of the conflict, this book is particularly authoritative.

These Helion and Co publications are very valuable contributions to the study of comparatively modern military history.
