Hindustan Shipyard launches Indian Coast Guard vessel

Hindustan Shipyard's facility in Visakhapatnam launched the first inshore patrol vessel of the Indian Coast Guard on May 28.

The 'Rani Abbakka' is the first of a series of five vessels. She was launched by Harkiran Basra, wife of Inspector-General S.P.S Basra, Commander (Eastern region) of the Indian Coast Guard.

The Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Shipyard, Commodore Naresh Kumar, said that 'Rani Abbakka' would be commissioned this August and that the rest of the vessels would be delivered within one year.
