Expeditionary fighting vehicles to launch in May 2010

The vehicle programme manager of the US Marine Corps' expeditionary fighting vehicles has said that the first vehicle is scheduled for delivery in May 2010.

"We're currently building seven new prototypes to the new design," Marine Corps Col. Keith More was quoted as saying by Defence Professionals.

The expeditionary fighting vehicle (EFV) is the newest type of amphibious vehicle for the US Marine Corps. It is an amphibious armoured personnel carrier which is launched at sea from an amphibious assault ship. It is able to transport of full Marine rifle squad to shore.
