Clogherhead RNLI to welcome new lifeboat

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station at Clogherhead, County Louth, is set to welcome its newest lifeboat in the early part of June.

The Shannon-class all-weather lifeboat has been named Michael O'Brien after a former RNLI coxswain.

The boat has a length of 13.6 metres, a beam of 4.54 metres, a crew of six, and two Scania DI13M 485kW engines delivering a speed of 25 knots.
