Ecuador-based Astilleros Navales Ecuatorianos EP has recently awarded Damen Shipyards a contract for a fourth Stan Patrol 2606-series patrol vessel.
Ordered for the Ecuadorian Coastguard, the vessel is the final of a multi-vessel order to be constructed by a local shipyard.
Damen will deliver the detailed engineering of the vessel together with a complete material package to Astinave's Guayaquil facility.
The Ecuadorian Coastguard presently operates three Stan Patrol 2606 vessels, all of which measure 26.5 metres in length and reach speeds of up to 30 knots.
According to Damen, Astinave's experience gained in previous projects means it will not be necessary for Damen to maintain on-site technical assistance for the project.
