Virgin Limited Edition has announced the launch of 'Necker Nymph', a "DeepFlight" three-person aero submarine for the luxury tourist market.
Likened to an underwater aircraft, 'Necker Nymph', designed and built by US-based Hawkes Ocean Technologies, uses downward "lift" on the wings to fly down to depth, rather than conventional ballast.
Individual "wind shields" remove the pressure of slipstream, reportedly enabling comfortable speed and ranges previously unthinkable without enclosing the pilots. The open cockpits afford near 360 degree viewing for occupants, and dives can last up to two hours.
