The second of six cruise ships ordered by Viking Ocean Cruises from Fincantieri, has been delivered at the shipyard in Ancona, Italy.
'Viking Sea', as its sister ships, is classed as a small cruise ship with a gross tonnage of about 47,800 tonnes, 465 cabins with accommodation for 930 passengers, with a total capacity of over 1,400 people, including the crew.
The ship was designed by London-based SMC Design, and Los Angeles-based Rottet Studios
The ship has two pools, one of which is an infinity pool off the stern, and a spa with a sauna and a snow grotto.
The vessels are all built according to the latest navigation regulations and feature energy saving technology such as energy-efficient hybrid engines and an exhaust gas cleaning system.
The first of the series, 'Viking Star', was delivered in Spring 2015 from Fincantieri's shipyard in Marghera, Italy, while 'Viking Sky', recently launched in Ancona, is scheduled for delivery in February 2017.
