Australia: The New South Wales (NSW) Government has recently announced a fleet replacement programme for Sydney Ferries.

It is envisaged that the Sydney ferry fleet replacement programme will deliver a mix of two classes of vessels, the Manly-class and the Sydney Harbour-class.

Four to five Manly-class vessels and up to 28 Sydney Harbour-class vessels will be required, with the initial programme looking to acquire at least six Harbour-class vessels.

The NSW Government announced on December 22, 2009, that Sydney Ferries would remain in public hands.
