SEAS delivers 90-metre purse seiner

South East Asia Shipyard (SEAS) in Vietnam has delivered a 90-metre purse seiner for SAPMER.

The vessel, 'Bernica', sails under the French flag and will join SAPMER's fleet in the Indian Ocean.

The vessel is last in a series of three ('Franche Terre', 'Manapany' and 'Bernica)'.

The vessel's main electric motor produces 2,000kW at 750rpm, with total power coming in at 6,000kw and reaching a speed of 17.5 knots. The vessel can handle a crew of 38 and has a 700-tonne capacity dry hold deep freezer (- 40 degrees) and a 300 tonne brine fish well (- 17 degrees).

Based in Ho Chi Minh City, SEAS is a subsidiary of Piriou Group.
