Oman's state-owned National Ferries Company (NFC) has proposed the launch of two new services in the second half of the year to expand its service to areas along the eastern and southern areas of the country.
The current route provides services between Muscat and the Musandam Peninsula.
According to the Oman Daily Observer, NFC has ordered three new high-speed ferries from Italy with deliveries expected in July, September and December.
The launch of the service is part of the government's scheme to link Muscat and other key coastal cities.
