VESSEL REVIEW | Xinhaihang – China's Blue Sea Jet welcomes island tour boat to fleet
Chinese transport company the Zhuhai Transportation Holdings Group, via its Blue Sea Jet business unit, has taken delivery of a new fast monohull tour boat built by Aulong Shipbuilding.
Designed by the Yangtze River Ship Design Institute, Xinhaihang (新海航) will be operated primarily out of Jiuzhou Port in mainland Guangdong province to the outlying islands of Changqin, Dong'ao and Guishan. It is also the seventh vessel to be built by Aulong Shipbuilding for the same owner.
Designed with passengers' comfort in mind
The newbuild has all-aluminium construction, an LOA of 32.4 metres (106 feet), a beam of 7.2 metres (24 feet), space for up to 45 passengers, and a design speed of 25 knots.
The interior spaces are fitted with tables and airline-style reclining luxury seats for greater passenger comfort while underway, while large windows provide unobstructed views of the outside. There are also private rooms separate from the main passenger seating area, allowing small groups to travel in relative quiet.
Fast and stable transits
The streamlined hull and the efficient propulsion system enable the vessel to maintain its performance under a range of sea conditions. A gyrostabiliser meanwhile helps keep the attitude as level as possible for enhanced comfort even during fast transits.
Now operational, Xinhaihang is available for sailing on charter tours and hosting private events.
