New Zealand builder Q-West has just delivered the 34.9-metre Tōrea to local operator Fullers Group.
Powered by twin Cummins QSK50-M engines, she has a maximum speed of 26 knots and can carry up to 400 passengers split over three decks both open and enclosed.
Tōrea is a sistership to Kororā, and both vessels were based on Te Kotuku, delivered in 2014. Early in the project, the passenger capacity on both vessels was increased which required significant modifications to the vessels' machinery and layout. The vessels were also modified to allow for a variety of different berthing options.
