German operator Flensburger Förde Reederei Seetouristik (FRS) on September 16 will take over the ferry service run by Mols-Linien between Aarhus and Kalundborg in Denmark.

FRS has founded a Danish daughter company to run the service. In July, it took over one of Mols's ferries, the large RoPax 'Mette Mols'. Its sister ship 'Maren Mols' will continue to operate on the Aarhus-Kalundborg route under a new name.

FRS will offer three departures per port and plans to develop the market for the transportation of accompanied and unaccompanied cargo units. The line will be presented as an inexpensive alternative for passengers with and without cars and/or caravans and for busses. The catering on board is also being modernised and improved.
