Seven fishermen have been rescued after their fishing vessel caught fire in the Gulf of Thailand.

The crew of 'SC Glory 2', a 36-metre crewboat built by Penguin in 2011, spotted the fishing boat on fire and attended the scene.

Upon arrival the crew commenced fire fighting and medivac operations.

After an hour the crew of the 'Glory 2' had managed to put out the fire and rescue all seven fishermen, some of whom suffered burn injuries.

The latest update from the SC Group is that the injured fishermen are safe and will eventually make a full recovery.
