Russian operator Neva Travel has launched a new commuter and sightseeing service in the Sirius Federal Territory on Russia's Black Sea coast.
Neva Travel's Sirius Sealine routes will initially be served by Sirius Vector (Сириус Вектор), a Project 04580 high-speed catamaran built by Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant to a design by Forss Technology.
The 32-metre vessel can seat a maximum of 200 passengers at speeds of up to 31 knots.
The vessel is capable of both inland and coastal sailings, as the design is optimised for operation in the waters in and around Saint Petersburg as well as further out into the Gulf of Finland.
The vessel's low height will meanwhile enable her to safely pass underneath bridges while the configuration of the hull generates only minimal wake.
As part of the newly launched service, Neva Travel will open a new high-speed ferry route between Sirius and the resort city of Sochi, which also lies along Russia's Black Sea coast.
