BMT and Washington State operator Kitsap Transit have signed a contract for two new high-speed passenger ferries with an option for a third vessel.
Nichols Brothers Boat Builders will construct the vessels, each of which will have an aluminium hull, a length of 43 metres, a top speed of 37 knots, and capacity for up to 255 passengers and 26 bicycles.
Delivery of the ferries is scheduled for 2020.
