Liuzhou Yinliu Hotel Management has ordered a Damen Ferry 3508 (DFe 3508), designed by Damen Shipyards and built by Afai Southern, for operations in the city of Liuzhou, northern China.
The first one of its kind, the DFe 3508 is a 35-metre aluminium luxury sightseeing ferry specifically designed for the client. As Liuzhou is the main business port of the Guangxi Zhuang region, the city will use the ferry for receiving both government and industry representatives for official meetings and sightseeing tours along the Liujiang River
The ferry has a passenger capacity of 100 persons, outfitted with a conference room, a VIP-room and spacious passenger rooms with extensive catering facilities. Delivery is scheduled in the first quarter of 2013.
Damen and Afai Southern have worked in close co-operation since 2001 to build aluminium vessels. Among other ships, this has included the two biggest aluminium vessels built in China, a pair of 85-metre RoPax ferries delivered to Turkish ferry operator IDO.
