Fincantieri and Viking Cruises have signed contracts for the construction of two new cruise ships following the exercise of options announced in April 2025. The vessels will be built at Fincantieri's shipyard in Ancona, Italy, and are scheduled for delivery in 2032.

The agreement, subject to financing and other customary conditions, is valued between €500 million and €1 billion.

The two vessels will have a gross tonnage of approximately 54,300 tonnes and accommodate 998 passengers in 499 cabins.

Fincantieri noted that they will be built to meet current environmental and navigation requirements and equipped with modern safety systems.

The contracts follow agreements announced earlier this year for two expedition vessels for Viking.

The latest order brings the total number of vessels covered by Fincantieri's partnership with Viking to 28.

Fincantieri Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Pierroberto Folgiero said the contracts reinforce the companies' long-standing relationship and support continued work at the Ancona shipyard.
