Refurbished ship sails on StarCruises' inaugural voyage from Thailand following relaunching
StarCruises, the former Star Cruises brand, has commenced operations since its relaunching earlier this year under the banner of Singapore-based Resorts World Cruises.
The cruise ship Star Voyager, which recently underwent a US$50 million refurbishment, departed its homeport of Laem Chabang in Bangkok on the relaunched StarCruises' inaugural sailing out of Thailand on Tuesday, April 22.
The ship is currently serving a five-night itinerary. On May 7, it will sail on another itinerary that will include stops at Singapore and the Thai resort island of Koh Samui.
The Resorts World Cruises brand was used temporarily to restart cruising in Asia post-Covid. The company reverted to using two relaunched brands at the end of a transition period that took approximately three months.
As part of the relaunching of StarCruises and sister brand Dream Cruises, Resorts World Cruises' ship Resorts World One will be renamed Star Navigator and will join Star Voyager under the StarCruises banner. Genting Dream will meanwhile continue its operations under the Dream Cruises brand.
