Silversea Cruises' Silver Spirit will undergo an extensive lengthening and refurbishment project at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, Italy.
The ship will enter dry dock from March 5 until May 1.
The large-scale refurbishment works will include the insertion of a pre-built 15-metre-long segment into the luxury ship's midsection.
The project will create 34 new luxury suites, a variety of dining options, an enlarged pool deck and a new health and fitness centre.
The improved Silver Spirit will cater for up to 608 guests and 412 crew.
