A fire broke out in one of the cabins of the LNG-powered cruise ship AIDAnova while it was in Eemshaven, the Netherlands.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours (local time) of Wednesday, October 24.

Local firefighters managed to put out the blaze before it could spread to the rest of the ship.

There has been no word yet on the resulting damage or whether it will delay AIDAnova's maiden voyage.

The ship is scheduled to be delivered to Carnival subsidiary AIDA Cruises at the end of 2018.
