Fincantieri and Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) Holdings have signed a contract valued at approximately €474 million (US$540.74 million) for the construction of one new Explorer class ultra-luxury cruise ship for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand.

The new vessel will be a sister ship to Seven Seas Explorer (pictured) which took to the sea in 2016 and to Seven Seas Splendor which is due for delivery in 2020.

The third Explorer class ship is scheduled for delivery in 2023. Like its sisters, it will displace about 54,000 tonnes and will be able to accommodate up to 750 guests.
