Cunard Line's luxury cruise ship Queen Mary 2 will undergo an extensive refurbishment after she enters dry dock in the spring of 2027.
The refurbishment of Queen Mary 2, which Cunard parent company Carnival Corporation said is the only ship in the world offering regularly scheduled trans-Atlantic crossings between Southampton and New York, will include the introduction of additional staterooms, enhanced retail spaces, and upgraded guest areas.
The ship will enter dry dock in Brest, France, on March 31, 2027, and is scheduled to return to service the following May.
Thirty-one new staterooms will be added across the ship. These will include 16 new suites.
Carnival Corporation said some of the existing suites will be upgraded with new interiors, furnishings and finishes, and newly designed luxurious bathrooms will with a sophisticated new look and premium "spa-inspired" features. Two of the restaurants will also be upgraded.
Guests will also be able to enjoy additional outdoor deck space following the refurbishment.
Queen Mary 2's kennels, which Carnival said are the only dedicated kennels at sea, will also be enhanced. Improvements will include redesigned kennels, increased capacity, a refurbished owners' lounge and an expanded outdoor walking area.
A new collection of luxury stores will also be introduced, "bringing a boutique-style shopping experience to the ship," according to Carnival.
