British Columbia Ferry Services reported a net loss of CA$12.4 million (US$12.6 million) for the three months ended December 31, 2010, compared to a net loss of CA$20.4 million in the same quarter last year.
The current year third quarter results included a one-time gain of $9.3 million from the sale of the company's former head office building. Net earnings for the nine-month period ended December 31, 2010 were $42.8 million, up from $40.2 million for the same period in the previous year.
For the three months ended December 31, 2010, total revenue increased by $2.4 million to $162.3 million compared to the same period the year prior. Total revenue for the nine months ended December 31, 2010, increased $8.6 million to $598.6 million.
