Vroon has announced the launching of the 60-metre field-support vessel (FSV) 'VOS Glory' at China's Fujian Southeast Shipyard.
The second in a series of four FSVs under construction for Vroon, the 60-metre x 15-metre x 4.6-metre 'VOS Glory' features an innovative wave-piercing bow shape, with on board capacity for 92 survivors (66 seated and 26 in bunks) and accommodation for 15 crew.
A pair of Caterpillar engines powers the vessel, rated for a total of 2,800kW and driving controllable-pitch propellers. This power train is supported by a pair of retractable azimuthing thrusters and three side thrusters, with the 'VOS Glory' rated for DP-2 dynamic positioning.
The 'VOS Glory' is scheduled for delivery later this year and will be operated by VOS Aberdeen in the North Sea. The company has a total of 22 offshore-support vessels on order at Fujian Southeast, with delivery planned between 2014 and 2016.
