Sapiem's semi-submersible rig 'Scarabeo 5' has suffered fire damage while in drydock at the Keppel Verolme yard, the Netherlands, reports Upstream.
The blaze on the 80.8-metre x 68.8-metre x 7.3-metre rig reportedly began following a gas leak during maintenance works.
Several minor injuries have been reported, but all 12 crew aboard the Fincantieri-built rig at the time of the fire have been accounted for, continued Upstream.
The rig had been chartered by Norwegian oil giant Statoil and was due to enter service at the end of the month.
