Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore and Engineering (CIMC SOE) delivered a platform supply vessel and a 24,000-cubic-metre liquefied ethylene gas (LEG) carrier on September 28–29, 2026.
Platform supply vessel S1098 was handed over to CDB Leasing and SPEC on September 28. The following day, the yard delivered hull S1108, named Eleanor, to UK-based Petredec.
S1098 is the fourth vessel in this specific platform supply vessel series. It measures 81.75 metres in length, 17.40 metres in moulded breadth, 7.8 metres in moulded depth and has a design draught of 6.3 metres. It has a deadweight tonnage of 4,000.
The vessel has hybrid oil-electric propulsion, with two tunnel-type bow thrusters and two fully rotating rudder propellers. It has dynamic positioning class 2 (DP2) capability and firefighting class 1 (FiFi 1) equipment.
S1098 supports oil-recovery operations and, according to CIMC SOE, can operate with an unmanned machinery space. It has an 800-square-metre cargo deck and can carry general cargo, cement, mud, drilling water, fresh water, methanol and fuel oil.
The first platform supply vessel in the series, S1095, was launched in July 2025 at CIMC SOE.
Eleanor is the second 24,000-cubic-metre LEG carrier built by CIMC SOE for Petredec. Designed and developed by the yard, it is classed by Bureau Veritas and uses C-type bilobe cargo tanks.
The yard said the carrier achieved a measured speed one knot above its 16-knot design speed. It is fitted with a WinGD 5X52-S2.0-iSCR main engine.
Its machinery installation also includes a scrubber and a shaft-driven generator. S1108 was launched in January 2026 and named Eleanor at a May 21 ceremony alongside S1107, named Emblematic.
CIMC SOE said changes to the hull lines and layout were intended to lift effective cargo capacity and maintain a balance between operating efficiency and transport capability.
Petredec’s wholly owned subsidiary Fortitude Shipping ordered two 24,000-cubic-metre ethane/ethylene-capable vessels from CIMC SOE in November 2023.
The contract included options for two additional vessels. The two firm vessels were originally scheduled for delivery in March and July 2026.
